Ex-coach contacts sought-after striker for transfer

Former Flying Eagles coach John Obuh has advised Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen to disregard the tempting offers from Saudi Arabia, where several prominent players have been lured by wealthy clubs in the Saudi League.
Osimhen, who garnered interest from clubs such as Manchester United, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, and Arsenal, following his impressive performance of scoring 26 league goals last season, has been urged by Obuh to carefully consider his options.
In an interview with Brila FM in Lagos, Obuh, who successfully led Nigeria's U-20 national team to victory in the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia, expressed his thoughts on Osimhen's future.
He emphasized the benefits of staying in Italy and highlighted Napoli's reported two-year contract extension offer to the talented Nigerian.
Obuh stated, "He has opportunities to build an empire for himself.
Osimhen has time unlike those going to Saudi. Let him replicate the goal-scoring achievements of last season.
The next contract he signs should not be too long, preferably not exceeding two years. If he can accomplish that, people will acknowledge Osimhen's arrival.
It ultimately depends on what Osimhen desires. He should not succumb to intense pressure and should carefully weigh his options."
The upcoming 2023/2024 Italian top-flight season is scheduled to commence on August 19-20, 2023, and conclude on May 26, 2024.
