"European-based players excel," supports former Real Madrid star

Former Real Madrid midfielder Mutiu Adepoju is optimistic about the Super Eagles' prospects in winning the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. 

Adepoju, who was part of the victorious Super Eagles team in the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations, emphasized the abundance of talented players in Nigeria, both within the country and internationally, as a crucial factor that could lead the Super Eagles to victory. 

He believes that the presence of skilled players in African and European leagues significantly contributes to the team's strength and potential success. 

Adepoju stressed the importance of ambition, proper preparation, and the responsibility of the coaching staff and players in achieving success in the tournament. 

Despite Nigeria's dry spell in winning the AFCON since 2013, Adepoju expressed confidence in the nation's quality and determination to clinch the title this time. 

He noted that it's time for Nigeria to secure the victory they've been striving for, highlighting the talent and potential within the team.
