Erling Haaland record: Striker is such a joy -Pep Guardiola

Haaland now has 51 goals for the season in all competitions, 12 short of Dixie Dean's record for most goals in a single English season. His exquisite chip over Lukasz Fabianski came after Jack Grealish's through play.

Guardiola and his coaching staff were in line to greet Haaland as he entered the changing room, along with all of the Norwegian's teammates.

"When there is a special occasion, we have to show how special it is," said Guardiola.

Haaland has 51 goals this season in all competitions, 12 short of Dixie Dean's all-time record most goals in a single English season. He scored a beautiful chip over Lukasz Fabianski after Jack Grealish's through play.

As Haaland made his way to the dressing room, all of the Norwegian's teammates, as well as Guardiola and his coaching staff, lined up to greet him.

"He is a joy," Guardiola said.

"Everyone is happy to have him with us. This record will be broken sooner or later, maybe by him in the future, because he will score a lot of goals. But Andy Cole and Alan Shearer are incredible strikers and I think he deserved it."

Haaland laughed the guard of honour was "painful"

"Everyone hit me on the back."

Additionally, he made the concession that he would trade all of his goals for the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup trifecta that City is currently vying for.

"Everyone knows it's possible, but we cannot think about Manchester United in the FA Cup final now," he said.

Haaland also stated that he was leaving to go play some video games at home since thinking about Dean's record was "too embarrassing."
