Erling Haaland of Man City Will Miss Norway's Euro Qualifying Matches Due to a Groin Injury
Posted : 10 April 2023
Erling Haaland, a striker for Manchester City, withdrew from the Norway team due to injury for their matches against Spain and Georgia, the Norwegian FA announced on Tuesday.
On Saturday, during City's 6-0 victory over Burnley, Haaland developed a groin problem. After the game, he joined the Norway team, but after being examined by medical personnel, the 22-year-old has returned to the Etihad for care.
Sources have said Haaland's withdrawal from the Norway squad is precautionary and he is expected to be available for Liverpool's visit to the Etihad Stadium on April 1.
Haaland, who had already scored a triple trick against Burnley to bring his season total to 42 goals, was taken off after 63 minutes. It happened only four days after he scored five goals in a 7-0 Champions League victory over RB Leipzig.
This season, Haaland has scored six hat tricks and already surpassed the previous mark for goals scored by a City player in a single season.
After the international break, Pep Guardiola's team has a busy schedule with nine games in three competitions.
