2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 5: Enyimba International vs Katsina United FC abandoned due to floodlight failure

Fans who flocked to watch the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 5 between Enyimba International FC and Katsina United FC were left disappointed on Sunday when the match was called off due to a malfunction of the stadium's floodlights.


This was a game that could have ended on a high note but was marred by poor stadium lighting.


Hosts Enyimba were leading 3-0 against Katsina United after 75 minutes, but the game could not be completed after the floodlights in the stadium went off.


Reports from the Enyimba International Stadium confirmed that the generator powering the facility shut down, resulting in the stadium lights also going out, leaving fans to rely on their phone flashlights to find their way out.


The game will now be concluded tomorrow morning at 8 a.m.
