Enyimba International FC winger, Ovoke vows to fight for team's honour

Posted : 15 March 2024

Enyimba FC's talented winger, Bernard Ovoke, assured fans that the players will keep fighting for the club's badge in the ongoing 2023/2024 NPFL season.

The former Kwara United star, who signed a two-year deal with the "Aba Elephants," described the defeat to Remo Stars in Ikenne as a tough pill to swallow.

"Tough to accept the loss as we gave our all," Ovoke said. "We will keep fighting for this great badge. Nzogbu Nzogbu." (Nzogbu Nzogbu is likely a motivational phrase used by the team.)

The left-footed winger, who has left an indelible mark in the NPFL with his exceptional skills displayed at clubs like Bayelsa United and Plateau United, emphasized that the players will continue battling until the very end.

Enyimba International FC will host the surging Niger Tornadoes at their home stadium in Aba for their next NPFL Match Day 26 fixture. This comes after a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Remo Stars.

Enyimba's recent form has been inconsistent, with two wins, two losses, and a draw in their last five games. Meanwhile, Niger Tornadoes have been in better form, winning three and losing two in the same period.

Enyimba and Niger Tornadoes have a history of close encounters. Out of their 12 previous meetings, Enyimba has won four, there have been six draws, and Niger Tornadoes has secured two victories.

The most recent meeting between the two teams was a goalless draw on November 1, 2023.
