After a delegation visit from HamKam FC to Nigeria in February of this year, the Norwegian club and the People's Elephant have announced a partnership between both clubs.
Executives Jørgen Bjørn and Chris Twiddy, Leon Bardacki, and Prince visited Aba in Nigeria to get to know Enyimba FC and their academy.
According to hamkam.no, the chief scout explained that the purpose of the collaboration is to create a good partnership that gives both clubs positive ripple effects. HamKam will help Enyimba build up the structure of their club, especially at the youth level.
"We will assist them by traveling to Nigeria twice a year and holding training sessions with their teams. While there, we will also conduct lectures on various academic topics such as methodology, physical training, recovery, and other important subjects," said the chief scout.
The Norwegian club stated that officials from the People's Elephant will visit the Hamkam academy annually, while players from Enyimba will be allowed to host the A team and G19. Both parties hope to acquire more talented players through the collaboration, concludes a satisfied Bjørn.
Nwankwo Kanu, a cult hero and Arsenal legend with a history of playing for Ajax, Inter, West Brom, and Portsmouth, among others, serves as Enyimba's club director. The right-footed forward earned over 80 caps for his country before retiring in 2012. Kanu has won numerous titles throughout his career at the highest level.
Kanu and his delegation from Enyimba FC visited HamKam in Norway, where they were given a tour of the club's facilities, and an agreement was signed linking the clubs together in collaboration.
Jørgen Bjørn said he was delighted with the agreement, which will connect the clubs and hopefully foster the development of new top players and experiences.
