2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 12: Enyimba International FC ends local Oriental derby against Abia Warriors in stalemate

The 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 12 local Oriental derby between the nine-time league winners, Enyimba International FC, and their fellow Abia brothers, Abia Warriors, ended in a 1-1 stalemate on Sunday.


While both teams reside in the same state, Abia State, Enyimba International FC plays their home matches at their stadium in Aba, while Abia Warriors, coached by veteran tactician Imama Amapakabo, plays their home matches at Umuahia Township Stadium.

It was, however, a home game for the Ochendo Boys, while the Peoples Elephant played as the away team.


Flying Eagles winger Clinton Jephta put Enyimba ahead after only nine minutes, only for the home team to draw level in the 26th minute through Adejoh Ojonugwa.


The next couple of minutes bore no fruit, and the game remained all square in Aba.


Enyimba now has 20 points from a dozen matches.
