With regard to injuries, England has not had a fantastic few months. On Tuesday, Chelsea star Fran Kirby added her name to a growing list of absentees and uncertainties.
Who are the potential replacements for the Chelsea star who has announced that she will miss the competition for the Lionesses?
Kirby said she will be skipping the 2023 Women's World Cup in order to have knee surgery to address a problem that has bothered her since she hobbled off against West Ham in early February.
Leah Williamson, the captain of the Lionesses, had an ACL rupture in late last month; Beth Mead, an Arsenal teammate, also experienced the same fate before Christmas.
Both Millie Bright and Lucy Bronze are presently sidelined due to knee surgery, however neither athlete is anticipated to be disqualified from this summer's competition.
At least over the past two international breaks, England was without Kirby, allowing them to more closely examine the alternatives for the forward midfield position she frequently plays for the squad.
