2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 12: El-Kanemi Warriors back to winning ways with lone goal victory over Niger Tornadoes

El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri on Sunday had another chance to redeem themselves with a 1-0 victory over the visiting Niger Tornadoes of Minna.


The Desert Warriors had their 10-match unbeaten streak ended on Match Day 11 after Shooting Stars SC of Ibadan whitewashed them 3-0 in Ibadan.

The Aliyu Zubair-led team regrouped on Sunday to earn a comfortable victory, securing a return to the top five position with the win in Maiduguri.


Top scorer Ibrahim Mustapha scored the only goal of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 12 in the 52nd minute, as the game ended 1-0 in Maiduguri.


The Ikon Allah Boys had put up stiff resistance in the first 45 minutes of the match, with both teams going into halftime without a goal.


However, the youthful Desert Warriors pressed harder in the second half, and Mustapha delivered a perfect finish for the maximum points, pushing his side to 5th place on the log with four wins, seven draws, and one loss.
