Ekiti United FC resumes training ahead of 2025 NLO season

It was a beautiful morning on January 6, 2025, as the players, staff, and officials of Ekiti United Football Club gathered at the popular Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado Ekiti for the resumption of the new season.

The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation as the team prepared to kick off a new chapter in their journey.

The day's proceedings began with a praise and worship session led by the team manager, B.O. Babatola, affectionately known as Benbella.

The team united to give thanks to God for the blessings and successes of the previous year and to seek His guidance and protection for the new season.

The session was filled with songs, prayers, and words of encouragement, setting the tone for a positive and uplifting year ahead.

The team secretary, Bolu Idowu, expressed his gratitude to God on behalf of the team.

He also thanked the state government for their unwavering support and commitment to the team's success.

In particular, he acknowledged the contributions of the Technical Adviser to the Government on Sports Development, Olusola Osetoba, who had been instrumental in providing the team with the necessary resources and support.

Idowu's words carried a sense of appreciation and responsibility as he urged the team to prepare for the challenges ahead.

He reminded them that the new season would bring fresh challenges, but also opportunities for growth and success.

He encouraged the team to remain focused, dedicated, and committed to their goals, aiming to make the state government and their supporters proud.

The team manager, Babatola, also reiterated the team's objective for the new season.

"Our sole goal this year is to gain promotion to the Nigeria National League (NNL)," he stated.

"We want to reward the state government for their support and steadfastness, and also make our supporters and fans proud.

"We are committed to working hard and giving our best to achieve this goal."

The opening session concluded with a prayer, as the team prepared to begin their training program in earnest the following day.
