In its quest to enhance the technical department of the team, the management of Ekiti United FC has enlisted the services of the renowned Ekiti-based Youth Coach, Ademola Agbana.
This follows the conclusion of days of talks between the coach and the management regarding the mandate to ensure better performance in the second stanza of the 2023/24 NNL, which begins next week.
Ademola Agbana, who had previously coached Ekiti United FC, is returning to the club for his second stint to complement the efforts of the present coaching crew.
The Ekiti United coaching crew faces a herculean task of ensuring the team secures a Super 8 qualification ticket, despite currently occupying a precarious position on the league table with 13 points from 11 matches in the first stanza of the league.
After playing to a 1-1 draw with Nigeria Premier League side Insurance FC in a recent friendly match, the team has scheduled some other top-rated friendly matches to assess the players invited to reinforce the team in the second stanza.
At least 18 players from the main team have left the club, with 10 dropped to the Feeders Team, while 8 have been shown the exit doors.
The second stanza of the NNL 2023/24 will begin next Sunday when League Leaders Madiba FC from Lagos will visit Ekiti to face the BAO Boys at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado Ekiti.
In the 12-team Southern Conference Group A table, Madiba is leading with 25 points from 11 matches, followed by Beyond Limits FC with 22 points.
The top two teams in each group will qualify for the NNL 2024 Super 8.
