The 25-year-old forward, currently playing for CSKA Moscow and on loan to Royal Antwerp, recently shared his memories of a trial with Liverpool. Despite his current success, he revealed the disappointment he felt when the anticipated move to Anfield didn't materialize.
According to a report from Het Nieuwsblad, Manchester City also expressed interest in Ejuke during his younger years, but Liverpool demonstrated the strongest interest by inviting him for a trial. Although he eventually found his way to Europe by joining Valerenga in 2017, the hypothetical scenario of joining Liverpool lingers as an interesting "what-if" moment in his career.
Recalling the trial, Ejuke mentioned training with Liverpool's youth team for a week and allowing himself to dream of playing in the first team. However, reality struck, revealing that he wasn't deemed good enough, forcing him to start anew. The rejection was challenging for him, as he recognized the rarity of such opportunities and felt he had let down his family.
Despite the setback, Ejuke has managed to build a decent career in European football. Additionally, he has earned three caps for the senior Nigerian national team, showcasing his resilience and determination in the face of earlier disappointments.
