Flying Eagles loses to The Gambia's Young Lions by an odd goal in the second semi-final contested at the Cairo International Stadium on Monday evening, Nigeria's U-20 squad, the Flying Eagles, was unable to advance to the 17th Africa U-20 Cup of Nations Final.
The solitary goal of the game was scored in the seventh minute by the lanky striker Adama Bojang, who took advantage of a defensive blunder by captain Daniel Bameyi.
Aniagboso had only given up one goal throughout the competition.
Ibrahim Muhammad, Samson Lawal, Haliru Sarki, and Francis Abubakar of Nigeria, who are all quick raiders, were unable to hit the target with their shots in the second half, and Ahmed Abdullahi of Belgium, who is a forward, missed from the penalty spot as the Flying Eagles made every mistake possible.
In the 77th minute, defender Benjamin Frederick demonstrated tenacity and purpose, but his efforts were blocked quite close to the goal. Onuche Ogbelu's soaring shot soared too high in the second minute of extra time.
In the Saturday Final, The Gambia will compete against Senegal's Young Lions of the Teranga.
