After a resounding 2-0 win over Nasarawa Amazons, which ended Edo Queens' run of consecutive 1-1 draws with Remo Stars Ladies and Dannaz Ladies, the team's coach, Moses Aduku, is now aiming to win all their remaining games.
Victory in their remaining nine matches will ensure that the defending champions finish top of Group A unbeaten and qualify for the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Super Six Playoffs.
While praising his players for doing their best during a game that saw Mary Mamudu and Goodness Osigwe finding the back of the net, Aduku is now focusing on winning their next away game.
“We thank God for this game; the girls gave their all, although we had some other chances that we didn’t take,” Aduku said after the 2-0 victory over the Solid Babes.
The win ensured that Edo Queens maintained their second position in Group A with 11 points, two points behind leaders Remo Stars Ladies.
“We are second on the log right now, and we need to go out in our next away game and see how we can grab the three points,” he continued.
“We have this last game behind us, and we are now looking forward to the next one. For us in Edo Queens, it’s operation win all.”
“We are going back to the drawing board to correct some errors seen in this particular encounter, and by the special grace of God, we will come from Kogi with three points,” he concluded.
Edo Queens will travel to Kogi State to face Confluence Queens, a team with no points after five games so far in the league, on Wednesday.
