West Ham United, an English Premier League club, is set to release its list of retained and released players by the end of this month, and among those bidding farewell is Mipo Odubeko, a talented Republic of Ireland youth international of Nigerian heritage whose contract with the club expires on June 30, 2023.
Odubeko, a powerful center forward, had two appearances for West Ham's first team in the 2020-2021 season, both in the Emirates FA Cup.
Despite receiving eighteen call-ups for Premier League matches, he was not given the opportunity to showcase his skills on the field by manager David Moyes.
As Odubeko's contract comes to an end, he has garnered genuine interest from French and Dutch clubs, indicating a potential move abroad this summer.
During his time at West Ham, the 20-year-old also had loan spells at Huddersfield Town, Doncaster Rovers, and Port Vale, accumulating a total of 49 appearances and six goals across various Football League clubs.
Odubeko's prolific goalscoring form for West Ham's youth teams remains a notable highlight, with seventeen goals in nineteen matches for the development squad in the Premier League 2 and Papa Johns Trophy.
Additionally, he impressed with eleven goals in nine appearances combined in the U18 Premier League and FA Youth Cup, leaving a lasting impression within West Ham circles.
As Odubeko embarks on the next chapter of his career, there is anticipation surrounding his potential move to either a French or Dutch club, where he can further develop and showcase his talents on a broader stage.
