Liverpool's forward Diogo Jota will be sidelined until after the upcoming November international break due to a rib injury, as confirmed by manager Arne Slot. Jota sustained the injury during Liverpool's 2-1 victory against Chelsea on October 20, when he collided with defender Tosin Adarabioyo. Since then, he has missed the last two matches and has yet to return to training.
With Jota out, he is set to miss at least four upcoming fixtures across all competitions. The international break is scheduled from November 11 to 19, which means Jota will not participate in any matches during this period. Slot indicated that other players, including goalkeeper Alisson and midfielder Harvey Elliott, will also be unavailable, leaving Liverpool with some key absences as they approach a busy schedule.
In Slot's remarks, he noted that Conor Bradley has resumed training and could potentially be included in the squad for Wednesday’s EFL Cup match against Brighton. However, he clarified that Jota, Alisson, Elliott, and Federico Chiesa will all remain unavailable for selection in the near future.
Liverpool's upcoming fixtures include a match against Brighton at Anfield in the Premier League, followed by a Champions League encounter with Bayer Leverkusen and a league game against Aston Villa before the international break. After the break, Liverpool will face newly-promoted Southampton on November 24, aiming to navigate this challenging stretch despite the absence of several key players, including Jota, who has been an important contributor to the team.
