Diogo Dalot praises Diogo Costa, Manchester United interest remains

Diogo Dalot of Manchester United has praised Diogo Costa, a player for Portugal and a "friend" who has been linked to a transfer to the club.
According to reports, United is considering replacing David de Gea with the Porto goalkeeper after the Spaniard received more criticism for his errors against Sevilla and most recently against West Ham.
Dalot, who "grew up with" Costa while playing for the Premier League's juggernauts, has fueled speculation about a possible transfer by asserting that his Portugal teammate has the ability to develop into a "world-class" goalkeeper.
“I grew up with him, he’s my friend, there’s a great relationship between us and I know perfectly well that he has the capacity to one day be world-class,” Dalot said at an event in Portugal.
“I don’t know if he’ll be at Manchester United or another big club in Europe. He shows at Porto that he is a differential goalkeeper and has helped the club a lot. If he continues there, I’ll be extremely happy. If he leaves, I hope he has the greatest success in the world.”
Mike Maignan of Milan and David Raya of Brentford have both been linked with transfers to Old Trafford, although United will have to compete with Chelsea as they look for a new No. 1.
De Gea is poised for a new deal with the Red Devils despite the fact that his performances are obviously waning; however, rumours claim that this will not ensure his first-team place under Erik ten Hag.
