Declan Rice, Arsenal’s defensive midfielder, expressed his determination to do whatever it took for his team to secure a win following their 2-0 victory over Manchester United on Wednesday. His corner kick assisted Jurrien Timber’s second-half goal, putting the hosts ahead and helping them reduce the gap with league leaders Liverpool to just seven points. Rice, who has provided 10 assists since joining Arsenal last year, said he was feeling energized and fully committed to the team’s success.
"I just wanted to do anything for the team to win, and in the second half, I would have done anything tonight to get the three points. I’m buzzing," Rice shared with Arsenal’s official website. The England international expressed confidence in his corner-taking ability, knowing each delivery would find its target. His focus was on placing the ball in the same spot consistently, believing that repetition would eventually lead to goals.
Rice also reflected on his personal achievements this season, noting that his contributions in terms of both goals and assists have been his best yet. Despite a broken toe suffered last month, he continued to play, showing his resilience and commitment to the team. "This year has been my biggest output in terms of goals and assists, so I’m really happy with that," he added.
Arsenal’s second goal also came from a well-executed set piece, with Bukayo Saka’s corner kick leading to another goal. Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim acknowledged that the hosts' set pieces were decisive in sealing the victory. Arsenal, currently in third place, will next face Fulham on Sunday, aiming to keep their momentum going.
