Dannaz Ladies pip Unification Ladies to win 2025 Lagos FA Cup title

Dannaz Ladies emerged as the champions of the 2025 Lagos State President Federation Cup on Sunday after a hard-fought victory over Unification Ladies in a tightly contested final.  


The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership side, Dannaz Ladies, has now cemented its place in history.  


The Cedars edged Unification Ladies 1-0 to claim the coveted title in Lagos State.  


Omotoke Ogunfuwa’s second-half penalty was all it took, as the NWFL Premiership side was pushed to the limit by Unification Ladies at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.  


A tense first half saw Unification Ladies confident on the ball, providing strong competition for Dannaz Ladies.  


The game's momentum shifted in favor of the Cedars in the second half when the center referee awarded a penalty after a Unification Ladies player handled the ball inside the 18-yard box.  


Ogunfuwa made no mistake, stepping up to send the goalkeeper the wrong way and give Dannaz Ladies the lead.  


Unification Ladies did not back down after conceding, piling pressure on the Cedars but failing to find the back of the net.  


The victory marks Dannaz Ladies’ first-ever Lagos FA Cup triumph. Along with fellow finalists Unification Ladies, they will represent Lagos State in the NFF Federation Cup, where they will compete against clubs from other states.
