In an exhilarating Saudi Pro League showdown in Riyadh, Cristiano Ronaldo showcased his brilliance, scoring twice to lead Al-Nassr to a 4-3 victory over Al Ahli.
The Portuguese maestro wasted no time, opening the scoring just four minutes into the match with a precise left-footed strike, courtesy of a brilliant setup by former Liverpool forward Sadio Mané. Ronaldo's early goal set the tone for Al-Nassr's performance.
Ronaldo wasn't done yet, as he added a second goal in the 52nd minute, demonstrating his clinical finishing skills once again with a left-footed shot after a skillful turn on the edge of the penalty area.
Between Ronaldo's goals, Brazilian forward Anderson Talisca made a significant impact, contributing two goals of his own in the first half. His first came from the penalty spot, while the second was a spectacular strike that rattled the underside of the crossbar.
Despite Al-Nassr's efforts, Al Ahli mounted several comeback attempts. Former Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessié found the back of the net in the first half, and Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez converted a penalty in the second half. Subsequently, substitute Feras Al-Brikan made it 4-3 in the 87th minute, creating a tense finish.
Al-Nassr's victory marks their fifth consecutive win in the league, a remarkable turnaround after losing their first two games of the season. This triumph propels them to fifth place in the Saudi Pro League standings, level on points with Al Ahli.
Both Al-Nassr and Al Ahli are among the four clubs recently acquired by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF). This takeover led to a significant influx of star talent from Europe into the Saudi Pro League, making it one of the most dynamic and competitive football leagues in the world.
