Cristiano Ronaldo: The Saudi League may break into the top five worldwide leagues

The captain of Portugal reportedly signed a deal with Al Nassr in January for more over €200 million ($220.16 million), according to various media sources.
With spells with Real Madrid in La Liga, Manchester United in the Premier League, and Juventus in Serie A, Ronaldo has competed in three of the best leagues in the world.
The 38-year-old claimed that even during his brief participation, the Saudi competition's calibre had increased.
He said on the Saudi SSC channel, "We are much better, the Saudi league is getting better, and the next year will be much better."
"Step-by-step I think this league will be among the top five leagues in the world but they need time, players and infrastructure.
"But I believe that this country have amazing potential, they have amazing people and the league will be great in my opinion."
The Saudis are ambitious, and earlier this month a source informed Reuters that Riyadh club Al Hilal had made a formal bid to sign Lionel Messi, Ronaldo's competition for the award for greatest player of his generation.
Tuesday's dramatic Al-Nassr comeback victory over Al Shabab, which ended Al-Saudi Ittihad's Pro League championship celebrations, was capped off by Ronaldo's game-winning goal.
