Cristiano Ronaldo Hints Al Nassr May Be His Final Club Before Retirement

Posted : 27 August 2024

Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted that Al Nassr might be the final club of his illustrious career before he retires. The 39-year-old Portuguese forward joined the Saudi Pro League team in January 2023, following his departure from Manchester United. Despite previous speculation linking him with a return to Sporting Lisbon, Ronaldo expressed his satisfaction with Al Nassr and his current life in Saudi Arabia, suggesting that his retirement could come while still playing for the club.

Ronaldo, who has scored 898 career goals, including 130 for Portugal, is eager to continue adding to his tally and plans to maintain his international career for the time being. He stated that any decision regarding his retirement from the national team will be spontaneous but carefully considered. Ronaldo is focused on contributing to Portugal's upcoming matches, including their Nations League fixtures against Croatia and Scotland, and later games against Poland and Scotland.

As for his future after football, Ronaldo mentioned that the idea of becoming a manager does not currently interest him. Instead, he is set to receive a special award from UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin in recognition of his remarkable achievements in the Champions League. Ronaldo holds the record for the most goals in the competition with 140 goals in 183 appearances, surpassing Lionel Messi by 11 goals and Robert Lewandowski by 46 goals.

Throughout his career, Ronaldo has won the Champions League five times—once with Manchester United and four times with Real Madrid. His exceptional performance and longevity in the sport continue to solidify his status as one of football's all-time greats.
