FC Ebedei will play Wonderxchange FC for a place in the Cool Hopefuls Cup final but must first overcome their Akure-based opponents in the semi-finals. They advanced from Group A, securing 9 points from three matches.
The Oliseh Boys, B.E Arena FC, FC Ebedei JNR, and Wonderxchange FC reached the last four after a tough final round of group matches. Matchday 2 and 3 were played simultaneously on Pitch A and Pitch B of the FC Ebedei Stadium in Apele-Sagamu on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The preseason and scouting tournament, sponsored by Ebedei Sports College, will feature rising talents. FC Ebedei JNR, who have maintained a clean sheet, will take on the high-scoring B.E Arena FC in the second knockout fixture scheduled for Friday.
In the final round of matches, AAYK FC became the only team not to earn a point, losing to all the teams in the group. They rued their poor defending, conceding a decisive goal with less than five minutes remaining against B.E Arena FC.
Despite taking the lead through a strike by Adebiyi Oke, AAYK FC succumbed to the attacking firepower of B.E Arena FC, who secured victory with two late goals.
It was a superb comeback for Elebuibon Boyz FC, who, after conceding two first-half goals, fought back to secure a 2-2 draw against The Lord's Favour FA.
The match between FC Ebedei and SDK FC was a one-sided contest, as Shile Lawal and Miracle Osekene scored in both halves. Lawal emerged as the tournament’s leading scorer with four goals.
