AC Milan manager Sergio Conceicao acknowledged the fans' frustration following their 2-1 defeat to Torino, emphasizing that the team must take responsibility for their performance and improve their response to setbacks.
The loss came after Malick Thiaw's early own goal and Christian Pulisic's missed penalty, compounding a difficult week that saw Milan eliminated from the Champions League. Supporters voiced their disappointment with banners and chants, demanding better performances from the squad.
Conceicao admitted the criticism was justified, stating that higher expectations come with representing Milan and that the entire club must accept accountability. He pointed out that Torino led at halftime without registering a shot on goal, while Milan failed to convert multiple chances, including a crucial penalty.
Despite dominating with 30 attempts, they struggled to break down Torino’s defense, and their opponents' goalkeeper played a key role in denying them.
The manager also highlighted Milan's ongoing issues with cohesion and costly unforced errors. He expressed regret for the fans who witnessed the recent poor results, noting that the team's defensive lapses were not due to tactical flaws but rather individual mistakes.
Conceicao stressed that every player has a unique mindset, but the squad must work collectively to eliminate errors and improve consistency.
