Chuba Akpom defeated by Nathan Tella to win Player of the Month for March

Nathan Tella, a player eligible for the Super Eagles, has been named the PFA Vertu Motors Championship Fans' Player of the Month for the month of March.

The Southampton-owned player has 17 goals in 38 Championship games this season, which has played a major factor in Vincent Kompany's team's success.

He scored a total of 5 goals in March, including a hat trick against Hull City and a brace against Wigan Athletic, and was rewarded for his remarkable performance with a PFA Vertu Motors Championship.

The 23-year-old then defeated Victor Gyökeres of Coventry City, Cameron Archer and Chuba Akpom of Middlesbrough, Tommy Doyle of Sheffield United, and Ki-Jana Hoever of Stoke City to win the monthly prize.

The Englishman with Nigerian ancestry expressed his happiness at achieving this level and thanked the supporters.
