Chevron Warri Area Manager Football Cup kicks off on Wed. Sept. 27

The maiden edition of the Chevron Warri Area Manager Football Cup for selected Secondary Schools in the Warri and Uvwie LGA, is now set to kick off on Wednesday, Sept. 27, with the finals on Friday, Sept. 29.
The event Powered by Chevron Recreational Centre Warri is in Conjunction with DACEMPCS (Delta Area Chevron Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society).
The selected secondary schools for the first edition are Nana College, Dore Numa College, both of in Warri South LGA and Ugborikoko and Ekpan Secondary Schools in Uwvie LGA.
The school soccer event will be a semi-final format, where Ugborikoko Secondary School will lock horns against Ekpan Secondary School and Nana College will lay tackles against Dore-Numa College by 9am and 11am, respectively.
All games will be played at the Chevron Recreational Center football field, Opposite Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS), NPA Expressway, Warri.
According to the Chairman of the LOC, there is great expectations for a very successful and exciting maiden edition, with the sum of N1million to be shared amongst the four participating secondary schools.
Other prizes include the MVP, Highest Goal Scorer, Best Goalkeeper and Best Behaved Secondary School.
The LOC Chairman further stated that the maiden edition would set the tone for future tournaments and expansion to more secondary schools, with consideration for both male and female categories.
We are excited about the prospect of engaging our secondary school kids and creating an avenue for them to develop their football skills and build their passion in football along with their education.
For the event to be successful, we seek the cooperation of the participating schools in adhering to the tournament guidelines.
