On Monday, Chelsea confirmed that they have reached an agreement to acquire Kendry Paez, an exciting talent from Ecuador's Under-20 national team, from Independiente del Valle.
The 16-year-old midfielder, highly regarded as one of South America's brightest prospects, will officially join Chelsea once he reaches the age of 18 in May 2025.
Paez showcased his abilities by scoring two goals for Ecuador in the Under-17 Copa America, where they emerged as runners-up to Brazil.
This signing marks Chelsea's first move of the offseason as they aim to rebuild under the guidance of new manager Mauricio Pochettino, following their disappointing 12th-place finish, their lowest since 1994.
