Chelsea Signs Boca Juniors Defender Aaron Anselmino on Long-Term Deal

Chelsea have announced the signing of Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino for an undisclosed fee, with the 19-year-old set to join the Premier League club on a seven-year contract. Despite the transfer, Anselmino will be loaned back to Boca Juniors for the duration of the 2024/25 season.

 

The young defender made 10 senior appearances for Boca Juniors since his professional debut in June 2023, including scoring his first career goal in a Copa Sudamericana match against Trinidense in April. Anselmino's move to Stamford Bridge marks Chelsea's eighth acquisition of the summer transfer window.

 

Chelsea, who finished sixth in the Premier League last season, will kick off their new campaign with a home match against champions Manchester City on August 18.
