Chelsea seeks Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia to strengthen squad

Chelsea have joined the race to sign Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia, according to reports. The Blues are looking to strengthen their squad after losing several midfielders this summer, including Mateo Kovacic, Mason Mount, N'Golo Kante, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Denis Zakaria, and Tiemoue Bakayoko.
 
With only Enzo Fernandez, Conor Gallagher, and Carney Chukwuemeka as senior central midfielders, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is keen to bring in reinforcements in that position. Other players linked to Chelsea include Declan Rice and Sergei Milinkovic-Savic.
 
In another transfer development, Inter Miami, the MLS team, has expressed interest in signing former Barcelona player Andres Iniesta. The Spanish midfielder, who enjoyed a successful career with Barcelona, is now being pursued by the American club.
 
Meanwhile, AC Milan has made a second bid to acquire Chelsea's Christian Pulisic. The Italian club is eager to secure the services of the talented winger and is making efforts to negotiate a deal with Chelsea.
 
In the goalkeeping department, Manchester United is considering starting the season with Tom Heaton between the posts. The club's initial offer for Andre Onana, their desired goalkeeper, was rejected. As a result, United is exploring other options and may rely on Heaton as their first-choice goalkeeper for the start of the season.
