In Africa, Al Ahly and Wydad AC have qualified through the CAF Champions League, with two more teams awaiting confirmation. In Asia, Al Hilal and Urawa Red Diamonds have secured spots, with two more teams yet to be determined.
Europe boasts 12 qualified teams, including Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Manchester City, who earned their places through the UEFA Champions League. Three more teams are awaiting confirmation. North & Central America, Caribbean, sees teams like CF Monterrey and Seattle Sounders FC qualifying, with two more spots to be decided.

The tournament format, according to MLSsoccer, includes eight groups of four teams each, competing in a round-robin format. The top two teams from each group advance to the Round of 16, leading to a knockout stage up to the final, with no third-place playoff in this edition.
