Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool, Man City can afford Osimhen; Arsenal, Spurs excluded

Posted : 25 January 2024

Football agent Paolo Palermo has provided insights into the potential destinations for Victor Osimhen, naming Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool as the clubs capable of affording the Nigerian striker.

In contrast, he ruled out Arsenal and Tottenham due to financial constraints. Osimhen's future has become a focal point for speculation in the upcoming transfer window, with the Premier League emerging as a likely destination as he hints at a departure from Napoli at the end of the season.

The Super Eagles forward has been on the radar of Chelsea and Arsenal, and previous links have associated him with Liverpool and Manchester United. Palermo, in discussing Osimhen's future, emphasized the financial capabilities of certain Premier League teams in meeting the striker's valuation.

He pointed to Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool as the clubs capable of making a substantial financial commitment to acquire Osimhen.

Palermo shared insights during an interview on TV Play’s Twitch channel, revealing his belief that Chelsea might already be in the process of securing Osimhen.

He emphasized that clubs willing to spend around €120-130 million are Chelsea, City, United, and Liverpool. However, he expressed skepticism about Arsenal's financial capacity for such a deal and mentioned Tottenham's salary cap limitations, despite acknowledging their potential ability to afford Osimhen's transfer.

Osimhen's contract reportedly includes a release clause of approximately €120 million, signaling the high valuation placed on the talented striker.

While speculation surrounds his potential move in the summer, Osimhen has affirmed his commitment to Napoli, the defending Serie A champions, for the remainder of the current season.
