Chelsea have announced a 27-man squad for this season’s UEFA Conference League, featuring four Nigerian players. The squad includes center-back Tosin Adarabioyo, promising midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka, forward Noni Madueke, and winger Tyrique George.
Adarabioyo, who joined Chelsea this summer, participated in both play-off matches against Servette but has yet to make his Premier League debut, although he has been listed in the matchday squad for all three league games so far.
Chukwuemeka has not seen any action this season under Enzo Maresca and was rumored to be on the move during the summer transfer window. Despite those rumors, he remains with Chelsea and is expected to feature in the Conference League due to the team’s crowded fixture schedule.
Madueke played a pivotal role in the play-offs, scoring an important goal in the first leg at Stamford Bridge, which helped Chelsea secure their place in the group stages by overcoming Servette.
George made his senior debut during the second leg against Servette, marking a significant milestone in his career after coming close to his first appearance at the end of the previous season.
Chelsea’s group stage opponents include KAA Gent, Shamrock Rovers, and FC Noah at home, while they will travel to face Panathinaikos, FC Astana, and Heidenheim away from Stamford Bridge.
The team will start their UEFA Conference League campaign with a match against Gent on October 3 at Stamford Bridge.
