Champions League Highlights: Manchester United's late drama, Kane shines for Bayern, Bellingham's brilliance

Posted : 25 October 2023
In Tuesday's Champions League matches, Andre Onana's dramatic penalty save secured a crucial win for Manchester United against FC Copenhagen, while Jude Bellingham continued his impressive form for Real Madrid, scoring in their victory over Braga.

Arsenal overcame Sevilla in a rain-soaked encounter in Spain, and Harry Kane found the back of the net as Bayern Munich triumphed over Galatasaray in a challenging match.

Prior to the match at Old Trafford, a minute's silence was observed in honor of the late Bobby Charlton, a Red Devils legend who passed away at the age of 86 on Saturday. Manchester United marked the occasion by earning their first points in Group A, with Harry Maguire's 72nd-minute header sealing a 1-0 victory.

Onana's brilliant save from Jordan Larsson's 97th-minute penalty was essential in securing the win after a spot-kick was awarded following a foul by Scott McTominay. United is now in contention to progress to the last 16.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich looks set to dominate their group after a 3-1 victory in Istanbul, making it three wins out of three. Kingsley Coman's early goal was equalized by a Mauro Icardi penalty, but Harry Kane's 73rd-minute strike and assist to Jamal Musiala secured the win for Bayern. Bayern has now won 16 consecutive matches in the Champions League group phase, establishing their dominance.

Real Madrid, the 14-time European champions, also boasts a perfect record with three wins out of three in Group C. They defeated Braga 2-1 in Portugal, with Rodrygo and Bellingham finding the net.

Bellingham's goal marked his third in as many Champions League games for the club, continuing his impressive scoring streak. Napoli is currently second in the group following their 1-0 victory over Union Berlin, with Giacomo Raspadori scoring the decisive goal in the absence of star striker Victor Osimhen.
