Celtic suffers defeat and double red card disruption in Champions League clash with Feyenoord

Celtic's hopes for a rare Champions League away victory were dashed as they suffered a 4-0 defeat to top seeds Feyenoord. The match began positively for Celtic, but it took a downturn when Calvin Stengs scored with a long-range free-kick that eluded goalkeeper Joe Hart. Celtic struggled to regain their footing after this goal.
In the second half, things went from bad to worse for Celtic as Gustaf Lagerbielke received a second yellow card and conceded a penalty for a foul in the box. Although Hart saved the ensuing penalty, substitute Odin Thiago Holm was shown a straight red card shortly afterward, leaving Celtic with nine men on the pitch.
Alireza Jahanbakhsh sealed Feyenoord's victory with a goal, and Celtic's chances of a comeback became increasingly improbable. Despite Feyenoord having further goals disallowed, Celtic narrowly avoided a larger defeat.
The timing of Feyenoord's opening goal was a significant blow to Celtic, who had been competitive up to that point. They had shown solidity, good shape, and attacking threat but were unable to capitalize on their chances.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers expressed disappointment with the two red cards and praised his team's competitive spirit. Captain Callum McGregor acknowledged the challenges but stressed the team's determination to improve in the remaining matches.
With Lazio as their next opponent, Celtic faces a tough challenge, and they will need to learn from their mistakes and perform better in upcoming fixtures to improve their chances in the competition.
