Casemiro to miss Manchester United's Sheffield United clash for extended recovery in Brazil

Casemiro will be absent from Manchester United's upcoming Premier League clash with Sheffield United due to the club's advice for him to continue his recovery from an ankle injury in Brazil. The midfielder sustained the injury during Brazil's match against Venezuela, but he played the full 90 minutes in their 2-0 loss to Uruguay.
Originally scheduled to return to United on Thursday, the club has recommended that he stay in Brazil to aid his recovery, resulting in his absence from the Bramall Lane fixture. While he is expected to return to Carrington early next week, he will also miss the Champions League match against FC Copenhagen due to suspension following his red card in the defeat to Galatasaray. United remains hopeful that the 31-year-old will recover in time for the Manchester derby against Manchester City on October 29.
Meanwhile, manager Erik ten Hag is optimistic about the potential availability of left-back Sergio Reguilón, who has been sidelined for the last four games with a hamstring issue. Reguilón, on loan from Tottenham, joined the squad for training at Carrington on Thursday, alongside Sofyan Amrabat, who missed Morocco's international fixtures.
However, Raphaël Varane's status remains uncertain after his absence in United's dramatic victory against Brentford. Long-term absentees Lisandro Martínez, Luke Shaw, and Tyrell Malacia continue to be sidelined, and Jadon Sancho is still following an individual training program, rendering him unavailable for selection.
