Carlo Ancelotti to become Brazil's national team coach
Posted : 06 July 2023
According to Ednaldo Rodrigues, the president of the Brazilian Football Confederation, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti will assume the role of Brazil's national team coach next summer. Ancelotti's contract with Real Madrid is set to expire in 2024.
The Brazilians, five-time World Cup winners, anticipate having Ancelotti in charge for the Copa America, scheduled for June 2024. In the interim, Fluminense manager Fernando Diniz will lead the national team while also fulfilling his club duties.
The previous permanent coach of Brazil, Tite, resigned following the team's World Cup elimination in the quarter-finals against Croatia in Qatar 2022. Caretaker duties have been overseen by under-20s coach Ramon Menezes.
Neither Ancelotti nor Real Madrid have commented on the matter, although Ancelotti's contract with the club will expire next summer.
The 64-year-old Italian has achieved success with Real Madrid, including winning the Champions League and La Liga, during his second spell at the Bernabeu after his tenure at Everton.
