Former England manager Fabio Capello has voiced his concerns about AC Milan's summer signings, labeling them as an error as these players struggle to make a significant impact at San Siro. Milan acquired ten new players, including Nigerian talent Samuel Chukwueze, but the transition has proven challenging for the newcomers.
Capello, who once managed Juventus and Milan, expressed his disappointment with the club's decision to sign Chukwueze and others. The substantial turnover during the summer, involving an investment of 132 million euros in ten players, is perceived by Capello as a risky move that has not yet yielded positive results.
Specifically addressing Chukwueze, Capello noted that the 24-year-old Nigerian winger has appeared timid on the field for Milan, contrasting with the outstanding performances he delivered while playing for Villarreal in Spain. Capello acknowledged the adjustment period and the pressure associated with wearing the Rossoneri shirt, emphasizing that playing at San Siro requires a considerable amount of personality.
Capello pointed out that Chukwueze is not the only newcomer facing challenges, suggesting that some evaluation errors may have occurred during the planning phase of the summer transfer window. Despite these setbacks, Chukwueze is expected to feature in Milan's upcoming match against Fiorentina, stepping in for the injured Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud.
