Can Manchester City avenge their loss on Real Madrid in the Champions League semifinal?

Manchester City lost to Real Madrid in one of the most agonizing European losses in their history a year ago, but they now have the chance to get retribution.
Real and City were paired up in the Champions League semifinals for the second consecutive year.

Last year, City needed to avoid giving up two goals in the last seconds of the second leg at the Bernabeu, but they did so dramatically.
After winning the tense first leg at Etihad Stadium 4-3, Riyad Mahrez gave City a 5-3 advantage overall.

However, with Real's first two efforts on goal in the 90th and 91st minutes, the replacement Rodrygo scored.

Then, Karim Benzema converted the go-ahead penalty in extra time to complete an incredible 6-5 aggregate victory. Carlo Ancelotti's team went on to defeat Liverpool in the championship game.

After City defeated Bayern Munich 4-1 on aggregate to get to their third consecutive semi-final, there is a strong sense that things may be different this year, especially with 48-goal scorer Erling Haaland among their ranks.
