Camp Nou in Renovations

Posted : 11 July 2023
In the foreseeable future, visitors to the famous stadium will mostly witness building waste and cranes. Barça will begin holding its matches in Montjuic by November 2024, at which point they would be able to claim having one of the most cutting-edge fields in the whole globe.

Even though Camp Nou is one of the most recognisable stadiums in the world and a favourite among Israeli football fans, anybody visiting in the near future will mostly witness building equipment and cranes.

Camp Nou's renovations have officially started, and images of its new look—especially the ruins—have quickly become some of the most popular things on the internet.

The majority of the work is expected to be finished in November 2024, just in time for the club's 125th anniversary festivities, and the freshly restored stadium, which hasn't had a makeover in 65 years, will be ready to host the team's games but the final modifications won't be finished until 2026, (including a roof to be built).

Work began on the stadium, which will eventually reach 105,000 seats, making it the third-largest in the world after Michigan Stadium in the US and May Day Stadium in Pyongyang, North Korea.

20 investors recently approved the transfer of cash and assisted the opulent club in renovating its home field, bringing the total cost to almost €1.5 billion. The Olympic Stadium in Montjuc, or "only" 55,000 seats, will host Spanish championship matches until November 2024.
