CAF Confederation Cup: Rivers Utd gets vital points away against Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso

Rivers United held their hosts Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso to a goalless draw in the first leg of the second round of the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday. The game, which was held at Yammoussokro in Abidjan, ended in a goalless affair despite the efforts of the two teams to secure a vital victory.
 
The Pride of Rivers qualified for the second round of the preliminary round of the competition after they were drawn bye. Etoile, on their part, reached the second round after they defeated Casa Ziguiqor of Senegal in the first round.
 
The second leg of the tie will go down on October 1 at the Adokie Amasiamaka Stadium in Port Harcourt. The winner over two legs will progress to the group stage of the competition. Stanley Eguma’s team got to the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederation Cup last season.
