CAF Confederation Cup: Rivers United faces Tunisian, Ghana, Angolan opposition

Nigeria's only representative in the African Continental footal and former NPFL Champions Rivers United have now be drawn in Group C of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Rivers United sent out Etoile Filante in the second round over two legs to qualify for the group stage of this year’s CAF Confederation Cup.

The “Pride of Rivers” has been drawn into Group C alongside top Tunisian side Club Africain, Dreams FC of Ghana and APC Lobito of Angola. The two top teams from the group stage will progress to the quarter-final.

It will be recalled that Club Africain beat Rivers Utd home and away to knock them out of the Confederation Cup group stage in 2017.

Full Draw 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cub:

Group A – USMA (ALG), Future FC (EGY), Supersport United (RSA), Al Hilal Benghazi (LBY)

Group B – Zamalek (EGY), Sagrada Esperança (ANG), Academie SOAR, Abu Salim (LBY)

Group C – *Rivers United (NGR)*, Club Africain (TUN), Dreams FC (GHA) APC Lobito (ANG)

Group D – RS Berkane (MAR), Diables Noirs (CGO), Stade Malien (MLI), Sekukhune United (RSA).
