Nigeria's representatives to the CAF Confederation Cup, Bendel Insurance have qualified for the first round after a thrilling 4-3 penalty shootout win against ASO Chlef of Algeria on Saturday.
The preliminary round encounter ended 1-1 on aggregate. Insurance won the first leg 1-0 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City on August 19.
But ASO Chief tied the contest after claiming a 1-0 victory in the second leg in Algiers on Saturday.
The game went straight into penalties after 90 minutes, as Insurance' Goalkeeper Amas Obasogie saved three penalties to help them win the game.
Insurance, who are making their maiden appearance in the CAF Confederation Cup will now lock horns with 2022 champions RS Berkane of Morocco in the next round.
