The 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) winning coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, has expressed optimism that his team will be ready to face the acid test from Union Sportive Zilimadjou of Comoros Island in the first preliminary clash.
Ilechukwu said that Rangers International will not underrate their opponents in the first preliminary round of the Total Energies CAF Champions League 2024/2025.
Reacting to the draw, Ilechukwu said the team will prepare ahead of the encounter to ensure that they make an impact on the continent.
"No team is a small team on the continent anymore. We respect our opponent in the Total Energies CAF Champions League 2024/2025 preliminary round, U.S. Zilimadjou of Comoros.
"We shall give our preparations ahead of the encounter all the attention it deserves. Don’t forget that we are still building this team, and we must be up and doing to ensure that we make an impact in the continental championship."
The Flying Antelopes will travel to the capital of the island nation, Moroni, where they will engage the island nation’s champions at the 14,000 capacity Baumer Stadium, Moroni, on either the 16th, 17th, or 18th of August 2024, with the return leg in Nigeria a week later.
