Newly-promoted English Premier League side Burnley is reportedly showing interest in signing former Nigeria U23 international, David Okereke.
According to Italian transfer market website Tuttomercatoweb, Burnley aims to strengthen their attacking options by acquiring the talented forward from Cremonese.
While Burnley has Okereke on their radar, they have not yet made an official bid for his services.
Okereke is represented by Patrick Bastianelli's PB Sport agency, which is known to have close connections with Burnley manager Vincent Kompany.
In the 2022-2023 season, Okereke stood out as a bright spot for Cremonese, despite their overall disappointing performance. The 25-year-old scored nine goals and provided three assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.
Following Cremonese's relegation from the top-flight league, Okereke's future has been subject to speculation in recent weeks. Besides Burnley, Italian Serie A clubs and Besiktas have also expressed interest in signing him.
Okereke, who has previously played for Club Brugge, Venezia, and Spezia, is under contract with Cremonese until June 30, 2025.
