The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is looking to strengthen their squad for the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup in Argentina and has sent out invitation letters to at least four foreign-based professionals. One of these players is Joel Ideho, a promising talent from Arsenal.
The head coach of Nigeria's U20 national team, Ladan Bosso, has already announced a 39-player training camp roster, which includes only home-based players.
However, Bosso will soon reveal the names of the foreign-based players who have been invited to join the squad.
The NFF has confirmed that Inter Milan midfielder, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, who has provided two assists in his last three games in the Primavera 1, has received his call-up.
Another Milan-based player, Victor Eletu from Rossoneri, has also been called up to the Nigerian Federation.
Additionally, Ume Emmanuel and Tochukwu Nnadi from Bulgarian club Botev Plodviv have received call-ups and have been permitted to travel to Abuja after Monday's Bulgarian First League match with Slavia Sofia.
Of all the players mentioned, Victor Eletu is the most well-known, having played over seventy games for AC Milan's youth teams since joining the Italian giants.
Eletu was also one of the standout performers in the AC Milan team that lost 3-1 to Hajduk Split in the semifinals of the UEFA Youth League on Friday.
