Brighton and Hove Albion's interest in Nigerian forward Philip Otele, currently playing in Romania for CFR Cluj, has been officially confirmed.
Otele, 24 years old, has been showcasing impressive performances this season, scoring 13 goals in 25 appearances in the Romanian SuperLiga.
Ioan Varga, the owner of CFR Cluj, disclosed that Brighton's interest in Otele has been established, mentioning initial contacts between the clubs due to Brighton's coach De Zerbi's familiarity with CFR Cluj.
Varga stated that discussions haven't progressed significantly yet, as both clubs are focused on their ongoing campaigns, but he disclosed Otele's price tag of £6 million for a potential transfer to the Premier League.
He expressed confidence in Otele's ability to adapt to the Premier League, highlighting his physicality and technical skills as valuable assets.
