Brazilian civil servants may report late for work, grace to watch 2023 Women's World Cup
Posted : 19 July 2023
During the 2023 Women's World Cup, Brazilian civil servants will have the option to report to work up to four hours late, specifically two hours after the end of matches. This decision comes as the competition kicks off in Australia and New Zealand.
For instance, when games are scheduled at 7:30 am, working hours will begin at 11:00 am Brasilia time, and on days with an 8:00 am game, working hours will start at 12:00 pm Brasilia time. This move was announced by Esther Dweck, the minister of management.
Brazil's national team, known as Selecao, will play their opening match against Panama in Adelaide on Monday. Following this, they will face France in Brisbane on July 29, and then take on Jamaica in Melbourne on August 2.
Having been runners-up in the 2007 World Cup in China, losing to Germany in the final, Brazil aims to perform well in this edition and improve on their last two exits at the last-16 stage of the tournament.
