Borussia Mönchengladbach is reportedly targeting KAA Gent's German-born Nigerian defender Jordan Torunarigha as a potential replacement for Nico Elvedi, who is rumored to be joining Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers.
According to Florian Plettenberg, a transfer market expert at Sky Deutschland, talks have already taken place regarding Torunarigha's potential move, with his transfer value estimated to be around four million euros.
Torunarigha joined Gent last summer on a three-year deal, after spending the second half of the 2021/2022 season on loan with the club.
The 25-year-old played a crucial role in Gent's success, contributing to their qualification for the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers by finishing first in the Belgian League Europa Conference League playoffs last season.
In an impressive display for a center-back, he made 45 appearances for the Belgian outfit and scored three goals.
Previously representing various German youth teams, Torunarigha recently switched his international allegiance to Nigeria, opting to play for the Super Eagles after not receiving any caps for the German senior national team.
As the potential transfer unfolds, Borussia Mönchengladbach will be considering Torunarigha's capabilities to reinforce their defense as they look to secure his signature.
