Boniface's strong Leverkusen start sets new record

In a striking beginning with Bayer 04 Leverkusen, Nigerian striker Victor Boniface has shattered records by attempting 29 shots in his first four Bundesliga appearances, the highest since such stats were first tracked in the 2004/05 season.
The 22-year-old also stood out by registering four goals and two assists in his initial trio of league matches.
This feat previously placed him in elite company, joining Paco Alcacer and Erling Haaland as the only players to contribute to six goals in their first three Bundesliga games.
Boniface's strong performances caught the eye of the Nigerian national team, earning him his first cap during the last International break.
Substituting for Taiwo Awoniyi in the 64th minute, he assisted Samuel Chukwueze in securing Nigeria's final goal in a 6-0 thrashing of Sao and Principe during an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Though he didn't add to his goal or assist tally in Leverkusen's recent 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich, Boniface remained a menace to the Bayern defense with multiple shots.
Bayern's goals came from Harry Kane and Leon Goretzka, but they were countered by Leverkusen's Alejandro Grimaldo and Exequiel Palacios.
Looking forward, Boniface aims to reignite his scoring touch in Leverkusen's upcoming Europa League match against Swedish team Hacken.
